Havana Living on a Carnival Cruise

Recently, while taking a Carnival Cruise out of Long Beach California, I had the opportunity to experience the Havana area. Let me tell you that this area opened a whole cruising environment to me. This “specialty” area is only available for those guests who have Havana type staterooms. These Havana staterooms do have additional charges (~$700 for a couple on a 7 day sailing), but for that you get full access to the private Havana area. On the Carnival Panorama the Havana private pool/deck area was on the 5th floor at the aft of the ship. Wristbands are required to ensure exclusivity is maintained in the area that includes hot tubs, infinity pool, sunning areas, and bar. Quiet, peaceful, and no crowds are all you need to know; plus, all guest must be at least 12 year old. If you want loud music, games, lots of people, etc., then this is not the area for you. During my stay, regardless of the time my wife and I entered, we were easily able to find a deck chair to take in the sun or jump in the pool. Two hot tubs ensured there was always room for anyone with access. The quiet environment made the time peaceful and relaxing. Swimming in the heated infinity pool that looked out to the ocean added even more to the experience.
